The mandate of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) is to promote regional cooperation for inclusive economic and social development in the Asian and Pacific region. ESCAP’s role as a regional development arm of the United Nations Secretariat is to support its membership, through its analytical, normative and technical cooperation, to respond to the development priorities and changing needs of the Asian and Pacific region.

The United Nations Centre for Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization (CSAM) is a regional institute under ESCAP. The objectives of the Centre are to enhance technical cooperation among the members and associate members of ESCAP as well as other interested States Members of the United Nations, through an extensive exchange of information and sharing of social-economically and environmentally viable machinery and technology, and to promote research and development and extension of agricultural engineering, including machinery and rural industry for agricultural productivity gains and poverty reduction in the region.

The internship is UNPAID and full-time (five days per week), for a minimum duration of two (2) months and can be extended up to six (6) months. Interns will work under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned.

Responsibilities
Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual’s background and the intern’s assigned office as well as the internship period. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
• Providing support to ongoing projects;
• Administrative support;
• Consolidating and sorting data;
• Working on presentations;
• Assisting in social media outreach
